My brother Brad was assigned to his Vicarage yesterday in a ceremony at Concordia Seminary.
He and his family will be going to West Des Moines Iowa for the next year.
O.K., before anyone starts bashing Iowa I’ll ask you – "Have you ever been to Iowa?" It may be nicer than you would expect. It was nicer than I had expected.
Iowa wasn’t his first choice – but I know it wasn’t his last choice either.
As a gift to him on this occasion, I had purchased a folio leaf from a German, Martin Luther Old and New Testiment that was published in 1672. It’s an original copper-plate engraving on hand-made paper.
It’s depicting Heaven, and the verse below it is Revelations 4:4-8
This particular chapter actually has 11 verses. I guess the rest of the verses are on the back side of this page. I don’t know for sure, because I couldn’t take my eyes off the picture.
