Tsunami damage: sordid reminder of the Asian tsunami of 2004. We saw scores of such buildings on the way, only adding to my discomfort and the lump in my throat. Some of the buildings are in this condition and permanently locked, probably meaning that there are no survivors from among the occupants. This on the Colombo- Galle Road: Sri Lanka, June 2011.
